MT stands for “Michael-Type”, the name of the crosslinking reaction occurring in QGel™ matrix formation.

The structural components react with the degradation and adhesion components via Michael-Type (MT) conjugate addition reaction. MT reaction occurs at room temperature under physiological pH. The hydrogel starts forming within 5-10 minutes but requires 30-45 minutes to allow complete crosslinking reaction at 37°C (cell incubator).
