After gelation, QGel has a mechanical stiffness of approximately 800-1000 Pa, which is a quite soft and nice environment, even for fragile cells. You may grow cells on the surface of QGel if you wish, as long as you take into consideration the swelling property of QGel that may influence your results.
Regardless, we recommend that you encapsulate your cells with QGel in each QGel product to test the various conditions and observe how your cells behave. After this preliminary study, you can design a more thorough experiment with more tests and several timepoints.
